Warm Winter Wishes

Hello all!  A very warm Christmas Wish is headed your way!  This is my last post of the year, so I thought I would show you a wintry card.  I got my inspiration from this wonderful card.  Paperie Blooms is my favourite place to go for inspiration lately.  You should check her out!

The paper I used for this card I have had for a couple of years now, so I can't even tell you what it's called.  The glittery snowflake I just picked up at the Dollar Store; the burlap string is from Winner's.  The button is out of my button box and the sentiment is from the November Stamp of the Month from CTMH.

There we go- have a wonderful Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year:)

Soccer Birthday

Good Day!  We have 4 birthdays in 5 weeks here at our house, so we have parties coming out of our ears!  Does that even make sense?!?  Let's just say that with 3 down and 1 to go, I've just about had enough parties to last until March.  And I don't even want to think about that one because that means my baby will be one (the Lord willing).  Wow!  Man time flies!

Anyways, our son just turned 6 the other day and since he loves soccer and the colors green, blue and orange, here's the card I made for him:

It's my take on the Mojo Monday 270 challenge sketch.  I used paper from the Scholastic Paper Pack from Close to my Heart.  The soccer ball and "Game On" are from the Game On stampset.  The stars are cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge  and the burlap string I found at Winners.

I like to make the kids' birthday cakes according to what their interests are, so of course, I had to make soccer cupcakes for him.  The soccer balls are rubber bouncers from WalMart.  All the kids were thrilled to take them home at the end of the day:)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Sparkly Birthday Party:)

Hello there!  My seven-year-old wanted to have a "pink and sparkly" birthday party this year.  I thought this was a great idea as I've wanted a chance to do a party using the Cricut and Close to my Heart stuff.

This was so much fun!  Here's what I did:

The invitation:

This was cut on the Cricut using the CTMH Artiste Cartridge and a cute {but retired} paper pack called Sweetheart.  I cut the cupcake at 3 3/4" so I could fit in a 4x4 evelope.  The "you're invited" piece is off of the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I used Glitz Glitter Gel-Stardust for the icing.

The cupcakes:

The toppers are punched with the 1 1/2" flower punch from Fiskars, circles at 1 1/4" on the Cricut.  The little flowers are Petal Paper Flowers from CTMH with a drop of Glitz Glitter Gel in the centers.  Aren't they the cutest?  The girls thought so...

Party Bags:

More Sweetheart Paper, with Glitz Glitter Gel on the scallops.  These are also cut using the Artiste Cartridge at 5 3/4".

And finally, my daughter told me that a homemade card is "way nicer", so I had to make her card from the same paper:

She also informed her little friends that homemade cards were nicer, too:)  Thanks, Sky!

Thank you for looking and have a great day!

Family Picture

Good Morning!

As I'm sitting here having chocolate cake and coffee for breakfast, I want to share with you our newest family picture.  My darling sister-in-law took this picture for us at beautiful Bridal Falls on Labour Day this year.  Didn't she do a good job?  We love it.

I've been decorating our family pictures like this for a couple of years now, and I have to say that I never thought I would have paper-crafted decor in my house, but I love how they've turned out!

Here's a close-up of the embellishment:

It took me 2 hours to decide what paper to use for this project.  Then I was finished in less than one hour:)  I used CTMH barnboard paper for the background (2 sheets).  It's from the Dakota Paper Pack.  The blue and green paper is called  Welcome Home from BoBunny.  The adorable banner is from a paper line called Serenade by Basic Grey.  The cardstock is just some random textured that I had layin' around.  I like to distress all my edges using the Edge Distresser from CTMH.  It just adds to it:)

The embellishment cluster constists of: Opaques Flourishes and pin clips from CTMH and a burlap flower from Prima Marketing.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

MojoMonday 266

Hello, there!  It's another beautiful day here in BC.  It's also challenge week over at MojoMonday.

This week's sketch is a very nice one:

And here is my take on it:
I used the Superhero paper from CTMH as well as a button and black hemp.  The "happy birthday" is from a retired set- one that I quite often reach for when making cards.  I cut the star using the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge, also from CTMH.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Bulletin Board

Beautiful day out there today:)

I wanted to show you what I made for my little sister's birthday:

She turned 15 last month and I wanted to make something special for her.  I went to probably all the second-hand stores in Chilliwack trying to find the perfect frame.  Three days before her birthday I finally found this one and my husband painted it white for me.  It took a few coats of paint because nothing wanted to stick to it:)  Then, instead of cork, I used a piece of cardboard and covered it with burlap.  Added a canvas butterfly and called it done!  So easy and so pretty- I think:)

Have a good one!

Kid's cards

Hello, again!  It's been a coupla weeks again, so I thought I would share with you come cards made by my good friend, Carmen.

I was asked, recently, if I would like to sell my cards at Silver Leaf Gifts and More.  I said, yes, of course:)  And then I realized I needed to get some cards made in a hurry.  Carmen gave me a huge hand at making these cards.  Aren't they cute?

Thanks for looking and have a great day:)

Back again-finally:)

Oh me, oh my- I can't believe how much time's gone by...

It seems I must apologize once again for not posting in such a long time.

I have excuses- our computer crashed, life is busy, and so on and so on...

Someone once told me four kids is fun, but five is a "handfull" and boy was she right:)  My life is very busy right now, and I love it!

But that's no excuse for leaving you hanging, so here are a few cards I made today:

These are all made from the Avonlea Paper Pack from CTMH.  I also used Hemp, Opaques Pearls, Color-ready Seam Binding Ribbon, Harvest Charms, and Smoky Plum and Slate inks.  The stamps are from Verve Stamps and from the Avonlea Cardmaking Workshop on the Go.

Thanks for being patient and have a good day:)

Customer Thank-yous

Hello, everyone.  I'm sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  I've actually not crafted anything recently- been busy with holidays and bbq's and such.

I do want to share with you a recent customer appreciation that I've made:

These gift certificates are for my loyal customers once they've spent a certain amount of money with me.  The paper is cut at approximately 8" x 11", then scored at the 3 1/2" line and at 7" (on the 11" side).  For this one, I've used the Dotty for You paper pack from CTMH (it's not available anymore, sorry), some Paradise Baker's Twine  and a random button that I had layin' around.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Happy Birthday-boy

Hello, readers!  I hope you are having a sunnier day than we are here in Chilliwack!  Man, this rain is tiring!  Oh, well.  Maybe this card will cheer us up...

We have another Mojo Monday sketch to share with you.  This week is a contest at Mojo Monday, so I've got my fingers crossed for a new stamp set:)

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

This is more of the paper I found at Winners.  It's called Out of the Blue by My Mind's Eye.  The sentiment is from Happy Birthday from CTMH, as is the baker's twine.  The airplane is from Technique Tuesday.

Hopefully we'll see the sun soon:)

Teacher Thank-you's

Good Day!  It's officially Summer Holidays and we are on our first vacation!  I just wanted to share with you the cards we made for the kids' teachers this year.  And by we, I mean the kids picked out the stamps and wrote their own message on the inside:)

I absolutely love this stamp set from CTMH, although I think it has been retired by now.  I have no idea where the paper is from- I found it in my scrapbox:)  The cranberry ribbon and the pin are also from CTMH.

Thanks and have a good week!

Happy Birthday-Girl:)

Hello, Everyone!  It's almost too late to post my latest Mojo Monday card, seeing as it's already Friday and the new sketch comes out on Monday.  But I'd like to share it with you anyway.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my girly card:

I found this paper at Winner's a few days ago and I couldn't wait to use it!  It's called Life of the Party from My Mind's Eye.  The stamp is from Verve.  I finally found a use for the chocolate ribbon I bought eons ago!  And the cute little pink flower is from CTMH.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

P.S. Happy Birthday to a wonderful Mother-in-Law!!

MojoMonday-245

Good Morning, everyone!  Hope your day looks bright and cheery!  I have for you today not one, but two takes on Mojo Monday's sketch #245.

Here's the sketch:

Here's take one:

this card is going to my husband for Father's Day, I think.  First of all, I turned the sketch upright.  I used paper from the Cruisin' pack and an old retired stamp set from CTMH called Just Like You.   I added some Durables-Round Studs and some random ribbon and-voila!  Super easy!

And for something totally different, here's take two:

What a different look, eh?  This one is for my kids' bus driver- it's her birthday today.  I used London Market paper and black cardstock.  The sentiment is from Verve. ( I really like their stamps)  I added some flowers that I bought at www.scrapbook.com.  The Licorice Opaques Pearls and the little pink flower are from CTMH.

I love how you can take one sketch and make two completely different-looking cards with it!

Thanks for looking and have a great day:)

Sean's Favourites- Board Book

Hi, all.  I've been sitting here feeling guilty because I haven't posted anything lately, so I thought I should at least say hi to let you all know that I'm still around (no baby yet:))  Then as I was going through my pictures just now I came upon an awesome project that I made a couple of years ago.  It's still one of my favourites, too.  This here is an old board book that was falling apart at the seams-literally.  I thought it would make a cute showcase for my son's favourite things.

I used an 8" board book and some old paper from Close to my Heart
I found the S at our local paper store.
Ribbon, buttons and hemp are also from CTMH.

I think he was 3 when I put this together.  His favourite activity was/still is puzzling.

His best friend was Rwar(his trusted teddy).

He also enjoys reading and playing with his buddies.

Sean loves/d to line up his animals on the table and have baths with his sisters:)

His favourite footwear is/was his crocs and morning just wouldn't be morning without Chocolate milk and a cookie:)

If you're wondering what kind of glue could keep a project like this together, I used Zip Dry Paper Glue and so far it's stayed together very well.
Thanks for looking and have a great day further!
